Many low-income families, among the UK’s most vulnerable households, lack the financial resources to heat their houses effectively. The government attempts to address the issue through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). The ECO4 boiler grant scheme is an initiative that helps households in England, Scotland, and Wales reduce their energy expenses by becoming more energy efficient. In this blog at Free Boiler Scheme, we made a list of essential things to know when Applying for an ECO4 Boiler Grant Scheme.

Large energy businesses support government boiler grants.
As the name implies, large energy firms must support and participate in the ECO scheme. This plan has energy providers, including traditional suppliers like British Gas, EDF Energy, and Scottish Power, offering cash to help low-income households in the country’s most fuel-poor areas save money by heating and insulating their homes more efficiently.

The ECO4 Grant Scheme will run through 2026.
The ECO program has been in place since 2013, and its current phase, ECO4, is scheduled to operate until March 2026. Use the form above to Applying for an ECO4 Boiler Grant before ECO closes its doors!

The ECO4 Scheme is offered only in England, Scotland, and Wales.
If you live in Northern Ireland, there is an alternative plan called the Warmer Homes plan. Please read this blog ECO4 Scheme: Your Questions Answered – Get the Answers You Need Now for additional information about the program, its eligibility, and how to apply.

To qualify, you must be a homeowner or reside in a privately rented accommodation.
If you live in a privately rented property, you must obtain permission from your landlord. Living in social housing may make you eligible for the ECO4 scheme; however, the eligibility criteria and benefits are different and more limited.Â

You must get particular benefits to be eligible for a free boiler grant.

You may get a boiler replacement from ECO if your boiler is old, damaged, or inefficient.
Your boiler must have less than 86% efficiency to qualify for a replacement. This is far more frequent with older boilers, and to be eligible for free non-condensing Boiler Grants, yours must be at least fifteen years old.
-
You could be requested to contribute.
You might need to contribute to the cost of your new boiler, but the grant can cover the entire amount under the Free Boiler Scheme. This cost will be significantly lower than what you’d pay for a new boiler without an ECO grant, and you could save up to £300 per year on energy.
Applying for a grant is relatively simple!
At the beginning of the application, key in your postcode and then respond to a few questions that would determine your chance of qualifying for a free boiler grant. Doing so, you will be provided with a booking confirmation and data of one of our team members to contact. A surveyor will then visit your home to check all this as a way of confirming before approving the grant. Our Gas Safe qualified installer will fit your new combination boiler, which will in turn save you money on your energy bills. To know the details please visit our website ECO4 Boiler Grant Scheme.
